Breaking With The Past

Breaking With The Past

A Chapter by therisa
"

An edited version, of my poetic response, to Midnight_Mystery's poem, "Treasured Safety-pin". http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/midnight_mystery/686916/

"
Am sorry.

You feel
This need to
Befriend a safety pin
To feel alive.

Just
As you have
Your own scars
So do I.

Marking our journeys
Of sorrows and tears
From the past.

But
The past
Is exactly that
The past.

Time to disown
Your false friend
For a true
And loving person.
