People wonder
Why you are crying

As you remain silent
For you can't share
The reason.

Knowing

The consequences

Of speaking out.

Being labelled
And shunned
As a diseased pariah
By them.

Thus
The façade goes up
Like a fresh layer
Of make-up
Upon your face.

As you drown
In those silent tears
Hidden within

Your soul.
