A Mere Thought

A Mere Thought

A Poem by therisa
"

Mental navel gazing.

"
From the edge
Of my consciousness
You do flow
In an erratic pattern
Upon the page/screen
Before me.

Often
Find myself
Wondering.

What were you
In a previous life
Before gracing me
With your presence.

Where you
A brave idea
That revolutionized
The world?

A lullaby
An exhausted mother
Created to soothe
Her newborn?

Or
A fleeting thought
Never to be captured
And imprisoned
Within a paper cage.

Else
A disposal story
Printed in
The local newspaper.

Used by
A local chippie
As the paper wrapping
Around an order
Of fish and chips
On a Friday night.

Forgotten
And tossed away
By the customer
Never to be read.

So many different
Possibilities
Flood my mind.

Never sure
Which one is
The right one
For you.

If
At all.

One single question in mind & too many answers.
Appropriately!how mind works or how thoughts come..This seems real, fluent and simple..
Power to your thoughts :)

Thank you, Rifatt, sort of working my way, through a writer's block, with this poem.
