Me, In A Nutshell

Me, In A Nutshell

A Chapter by therisa
"

My mental health journey, so far.

"
Am not
A cripple
Gimp
Or any other word
You want to use.

Although
I do have
A psych assessment
From a transphobic psychiatrist.

Who's report
Has so many holes
Convoy of tracker-trailers
Ninety km long
Could drive through.

But that's
Another story
As they say.

Trying to navigate
The mine field
We call
The Ontario mental health system.
For the proper programs.

Spending more time
On waiting lists
Than getting assistance.

Jumping through
Various hoops
Just to qualify.

While
Struggling with
Severe chronic depression
Agoraphobia
Various anxiety disorders
And PTSD.

And yeah
I have been suicidal.

Since
A young child
Recalling 3 different times
Before the age of twelve.

Otherwise
Everything is
Just peachy.

Never mind
The anxiety/panic attacks
Inspired by
Rush hour traffic
On the local transit system.

Which
Many programs
Are schedule.

Either
To start
Or end
During rush hour.

Oh
Lucky me
Not!
