25 Years LaterA Chapter by therisaA poetic commentary on, the Montreal Massacre. It's been 25 years And I find myself Asking this: "Have we learn Anything?" As lone angry men Still attack women Who they feel threatened By their accomplishment. Whether In the developed Or developing world. In Canada Women still die At the hands Of family members And former lovers. While politicians Focus upon The bottom line Over the needs Of an equable society. While We wait for The next Dawson College Or École Polytechnique To occur or worse. Before Taking serious The growing issue Of violence against women With fire arms. Sadly My answer is No. Rather Canada has regressed Since December 6, 1989. Filling my heart With tears of shame.
