To be
The one
Whose heart
Beats for you.

Is worth more
Than all the gold
In Fort Knox.

As I sigh
Just thinking
Of having someone
This special
In my life.

To hold me

On moments

Like this.

When toxic memories

Threaten to carry me

Away.

Triggered by

Lyrics of a song

I have heard

Countless times.

Cradling me

In your loving embrace

Stroking my head

Whispering calming thoughts

With your tender voice.

Until

The storm blows over

And am calm

Once more.

This alone

Makes my life

Livable.
