Icing Sugar

Icing Sugar

A Poem by therisa
"

Melancholy for the coming Winter season.

"
A light dusting
Like powder sugar
Covers the sidewalks
As I step out.

Slipping
With the first step
On the freshly fallen snow
Into the nighttime air.

A sad longing
Fills my soul
At this sight.

Wanting to cry
Tears of sorrow
At what has been
Taken from me.

My sense of joy
Left frozen
By the roadside.

Covered
In layers of slush
From passing vehicles
Driving by.

As the temperature
Drops below zero
Once more.

Trapping me
Inside this icy prison
Until the next thaw.

Another stunning piece that strikes to the heart of depression.

Thanks KL. Just wish, I didn't know what depression is.
Therisa, what can we do to make you smile my friend? This was a wonderful piece except the theme was a cold as any winter I have experienced.

Some days.
I love how you have this specific perspective on how you express your feelings. Something as little as snow, and you've turned it into a powerful experience through words. Really great job !

Thank you, Emily. Just wrote, what felt right, to me, as an intuitive writer.
