An expansion of the poetic review, I give to Momzilla's "Be The Rain" http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/MomzillaNC/1401571/

It's life balm
To the cruelties
Which we endure.

Often
In silence.

Knowing
Change is
Just a drop away.

Cleansing our soul
With its purity
And wetness.

While
Providing substance
For our physical needs
Which we take
For granted
Too often.

Squandering it
On wanton things
Without a second thought
To others.

As the rivers
Run dry.

Once
Its mighty flows
Sculpted the land
Before running
To the sea.

Leaving everyone
So much poorer
For this lost.

Thanks for referencing my poem. This makes a very good environmental statement. The issues of clean water are an ever-growing problem. I read a book once about a post-apocaliptic world being ravaged by wars over water rights. It's not so very far fetched. Water rights were but one of the issues that fueled the range wars between the cattlemen and shepherds in the American West.

My poem, though, was a metaphor of standing firm in our own course, not being diverted by the railings of others who would make us something other than what we are in our souls.

I fear, it will only get worse, before a solution is accepted, by all governments.
