Stealth ModeA Poem by therisaMy unease, with being called, a leader, when I am still struggling with other concerns, like my health.I get nervous When people start Describing me A leader. As I document My life and experiences In free verse poetry. When I know There many other people Who risk their lives On a daily basis. In challenging society One person At a time. Making a real difference Most don't see But I do In people's attitudes Towards others Like myself. Am Just the crowbar Applied to the crack They have created To widen It's growth. By giving A human face To the struggles Of the transcommunity. For many of us We prefer To live our lives Without having A spotlight On us. Slipping Into the background Unnoticed and unmolested By the hateful bigots Of the world.
