Entered The Serpent

Entered The Serpent

A Poem by therisa
"

My journey to see the dietitian.

"
Officials say
These subway cars
Will increase
The traffic flow.

As the mechanical
Silver snake arrives
At the subway station
Spewing forth passengers.

And yet
I find myself
Battling an anxiety attack
Paralyzing me
To the platform.

Letting three trains go
Due to crowding
And my anxiety
Before boarding.

Even then
It's a struggle
Not to turn around
And flee
To my apartment.

Just five stops away
From my destination
Of the dietitian's office.
