A Moment's Sleep

A Moment's Sleep

A Poem by therisa
"

Insomnia

"
Upon the midnight hour
It did arrive
With little celebration
By anyone.

Graced by
Hypnos' appearance
At my bedside.

Ending
My long hours
Of torture.

Knowing
Relief is
Only temporary
For me.

Easily disturbed
By the slightest noise
Or movement.

Destroying
Any hope
Of lasting healing
Mental or otherwise.

As the circles
Around my eyes
Grow ever darker.
