Daily Grind

Daily Grind

A Poem by therisa
"

Part of my daily struggle.

"
I know
My body exists
But everything seems
To be out of sync.

As if
I'm two or three steps
Behind everyone
In my actions.

Not knowing
How this has occurred.

Except
It's my reality
And I dislike it.

As my body moves
Through a sea
Of invisible molasses
No one else sees.

Trapping me
Like a fly
Inside a bubble of amber
For all to admire.

But I'm no bauble
To wear around your body
Showing off
Your prized possession.

Just a woman
Who is struggling
With her mental health
Trying to do good
To herself.
