A Narrow EscapeA Poem by therisaA close encounter with dissociating, last night. Can feel my eyes Losing their focus As I look At your writing. Like a sense of vertigo Everything swirls around me As my body sways To its own rhythm. Transporting me To another world Far away From here. Struggling To keep afloat Else lose myself To the rising tide Of dissociating. Where everything exists In a huge cloud Of white static Consuming all. And time Has no meaning Beyond its passing Unmarked. And yet This time I did escape your clasp Before you consumed me. Feeling drained And weakened For doing so.
