Season Of Tears

Season Of Tears

A Poem by therisa
"

Seasonal depression.

"
It has started
Earlier than previous years
With the Goddess' tears
Upon the dying land.

As She tries
To wash away
The remaining evidence
Of a crime committed
By time.

To no avail.

For my soul mourns
In the gathering darkness
Which claims the land
In its grip.

Sinking
Ever deeper
Into the realm of sorrow
And despair.

I feel Her
Withdrawing inward
As the tears transform
Into bitter cold snow.

Covering Her children
In a blanket
The coroners forget
In their rush.

Offering faint solace
To a grieving Mother
As She buries them
With love.

Knowing
This shall past
Once the thaws come.

As Willie pokes his head out
To yae or nae
For 6 more weeks
Of winter.

Until then
I endure
Praying for
A quick end.

I understand your husband's suffering, as I almost dropped out of university, during my first year, because of SAD. I was told, at the time, it was homesickness. Never mind, October and November, was one big rain storm, until the snow came. I hope, your husband has a lightbox, to help him, with SAD.

SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is very real and can be quite painful, both physically and psychologically. My husband suffers from SAD and the cold physically causes him pain on top of depressing him.
