The Deadliest Virus

The Deadliest Virus

A Poem by therisa

Hate
The ugliest word to exist
In the English language.

And yet
It flourishes
Like a drug resistance
Super bug
Despite all efforts
To eradicate it.

Spring forth
It's virulent spores
Looking for fertile ground
To infect
And multiple.

Twisting simple fears
Or misunderstandings
Into grotesque
And misshapen ideas.

Where rational thought dies
And innocent people
Are harmed.
