Pie In Sky?

What my perfect world would look like.

Should you ask me

What my perfect world looks like

I hesitate to answer

You'll laugh

At me.

 

For

In my world

No one will suffer

From mental illness

Being isolated

By shame

And stigma.

 

Able to live life

Free from chronic pain

Where the painkillers

Only mask the pain

Without addressing the problem.

 

Or

Have to struggle

With sexual/gender identity

Where the stress

Can lead to suicide attempts

When rejected.

 

Else

Forced to face

The aftermath of abuse

As PTSD flashbacks occur

Reliving the trauma

All over

Again.

 

Am I

Living in a dreamworld

By voicing this

As many people

Have been hurt

Over the years.
