Sweetest Sound

Relief, a rain storm can bring.

Sound of the gentle patter

Of a late summer night's rain

Fills my apartment

And myself

With relief.

 

As a soft sigh escapes

Knowing

The chronic pain has

Temporary subsided

Upon awaking.

 

Taking away

It's thuggish companion

Nausea

Who heralds the arrival

Of another migraine.

 

Odd moments

I wonder

Should I give them

A parting gift

In the hope

They never return.

 

Nah

Screw them!

 

Wishing

I could capture this

And play it back

On their next visit.

 

Like classical music

To chase them

Away.

Do you hurt like bones and that when it rains or is cold Just wandering it happens to some in my family it is the changing of the weather.

Sadly, Benita, my migraines are triggered, by a drop, in the barometric pressure, associated with a coming storm. My sensitivity to this, has been heighten, by taking Cymbalta and Sertraline (both anti-depressants).

I'm sorry to hear that I get Sinus headaches during storms and allergy season that's autumn summer spring almost always the pollen and allergy season now in than no depression but I've had migraines before I understand that and my bones off in on ache from the cooler weather been that way since I was a child but I am thankful I don't have the back problems I used to have Thankfully God fixed that problem I would have these Horrible Spasms down my back was quite painful but I know we all have some type of pain we try in deal with I hope you do feel better you'll be in my prayers hope you're having a lovely day today. "listen to the rhythm of the falling rain..."

it has its certain melody, and it can be soothing....offset the migraines...the other ailments that can drive us crazy...

you set a mood with this one.
