Morale Boost

Morale Boost

A Poem by therisa
"

Realizing my fears of being read, as male, are groundless.

"
Have forgotten
How powerful
These two words are.

In hearing
"Ma'am" and "miss"
Being addressed to me.

Especially
On those days
I feel vulnerable
Dressing in "boy" mode
Of jeans and tee.

Even though
This fall will mark
The third anniversary
In passing female
To the world.

Erasing
Whatever self-doubts
That have crept up
In the recent past.

As a hidden smile
Lights up my soul
Knowing
My fears are groundless.

In regards
To being read
As a male.
