Morale Boost

Realizing my fears of being read, as male, are groundless.

Have forgotten

How powerful

These two words are.

 

In hearing

"Ma'am" and "miss"

Being addressed to me.

 

Especially

On those days

I feel vulnerable

Dressing in "boy" mode

Of jeans and tee.

 

Even though

This fall will mark

The third anniversary

In passing female

To the world.

 

Erasing

Whatever self-doubts

That have crept up

In the recent past.

 

As a hidden smile

Lights up my soul

Knowing

My fears are groundless.

 

In regards

To being read

As a male.
