Inferior BirthA Poem by therisaAnother dark period of my life.Silent sobs Rock my body As I reflect back Severn years ago. Of a time I lived In a homeless shelter For women. A system overwhelmed By need And lack of resources On all levels. Where people are Treated like children Dictating every aspect. Especially those Who are struggling With mental illness. Visible For all To see. As if Responsibility for this illness Is my fault For PTSD depression And various anxiety disorders. Victimizing me All over again Keeping quiet On my growing sense Of helplessness. Knowing I had to escape Taking the first place Offered to me. Else Take my life As a solution.
