The Coming Season

The Coming Season

A Poem by therisa
"

A bit of darkness.

"
Darkness settles in
Where light
Once shone brilliantly
Upon the soul.

Tainting hope
Until nothing remains
But the bleakest of views
Towards life.

Sunlight
A distant memory
Of another time
And place.

Where everything appears
In a different tone of light
From everyday life
Of today.

As if
The eyes have become blind
And the other senses
A vague shadow
Of themselves.

Like a person
Who's stumbling around
Trying to regain
What was lost
And failing.

Scared
Any dreams
Will turn to dust
On waking.

Destroying
What little remains
Of life's glory.
