Storm Rider

Storm Rider

A Poem by therisa

I can feel it
Deep within my soul
It's coming
The darkness is near.

Moving northward
Riding hurricanes' backs
Hugging the coastline
Before coming inland.

Like a thief
It moves
Under the cover
Of advancing storm clouds
Selecting potential targets
To strike.

As any good con artist
It slips past your defences
Setting up shop
Before you realize it.

Some call it
The "winter blahs"
But I know better
It's SAD.

If not careful
Can spiral downwards
Into a black depression.

As happened
In the past
To me.
