Fear

Fear

A Poem by therisa

An insidious disease
No known vaccine exists
Unleashed by those
Who use it
As a blunt weapon
To shatter resistance.

When
The bravest person is
Temporary paralyzed
Or worse
By their exposure.

As rational thought
Become the first causality
To die.

Forcing some people
To move even deeper
Into the closet of denial
For self-protection.

Losing themselves
Within a world of pain
And dark shadows
Which consumes the soul.

Hope is
A dangerous word
But necessary
In this war.
