System Down
A Chapter by therisa
Optical illusion War fought and won Through the legal And political systems. Discrimination Although illegal Is fact of life With a bitter smile. Ghettoization By fear And economic needs Just out of sight. Children are cannibalized Without a second thought Mental health system Drowning in numbers. Hope A caustic pill Things will get better.

Personally, in the past, I would have been placed, in an institution, for my own mental illness, given my long history of suicide attempts.
