What Apocalypse?

What Apocalypse?

A Poem by therisa
"

Inspired by Icelandicblue's poem, Anne Of The Celts.

"
Hmm
You say
"It's end of the world
And I need to repent".

For what reason
I wonder.

As I don't believe
In your "God"
Or His message
Of doom.

Having walked
Through my own
"Valley of the Dead
And Condemned Souls".

In experiencing things
Which would break
The strongest of souls
In seconds.

Where
The worse of humanity is
In full display
For all to see.

The cruelty and barbarism
In their attacks
Against those
Who don't fit
Into their world view.

Making terrorist groups
Like ISO
A fringe member
Of the family.

All done
With a sincere smile
Upon their faces.

As I remove
The bloody daggers
And broken arrows
From my back.

One
At a time.

Why
Should I fear
Your bogeymen
Of death and destruction.

When I have witnessed
And experienced
Far worse
Than you can imagine
Throughout my life.

So
Bring it on
Your worse possible fears
As I laugh
At you.

While a lot of people experience hell here on earth, the hell our God speaks of is worse! God can help people with there needs if only they reach for him! i felt your pain and misery through out each stanza!

Thank you, Frieda. Not my normal writing styling for poetry.
Hah! Absolutely gotta love it and I do! The theme of your poem, that you have experienced much worse than "they" can throw at you, so why the hell should you fear their tall tales. Me too. I spent two lost decades walking the streets in many different cities of the once great land, and yes, I've witnessed much that could be called brutality upon the human race. So I fear not those tall tales either. Thank you for putting this poem together. It "spoke" to me.

Thank you, Hitchhiker. Wish, neither of us, had to experience life, like this.
