Little Lost GirlA Poem by therisaFictional poetic tale. The streets She does roam Seeking refuge Wherever she can. Whether A daytime needle Filled with Who knows what Plunged into Whatever body part Doesn't show. Or The "nightly dates" Selling herself For self-worth To paying strangers On the strip. If you saw her Before she came To the street You wouldn't recognize her Now. Gone A naive 17 year old Seeking a better life From an abusive family In the big city. Replaced by A streetwise 20 year old With dead eyes Looking to survive At any cost. Body covered In multiple piercings And tattoos From another lifetime When things were better. Preparing herself For another night Of work She tucks in Her "boy" parts. Satisfy Everything is right She steps out Onto the streets. Losing one more part Of her soul Forever.
