Kudzu
A Chapter by therisa
Depression
Years ago When I noticed Your tender green shoots For the first time. Thought I could handle you But I was wrong. Ignoring The warning signs Which grew all around me As your shoots became Strong vines. Magically Growing overnight Out of nowhere Like a bad weed. Casting a menacing shadow Upon me Starving everything From the healing light With your green leaves And purple flowers. With your circle of death Growing ever wider Each passing day. Casting me Into darkness As I shrivel Under your growing touch Choking the life From me. Realizing Much too late. There's no known cure Only stopgap measures Which impedes your growth Once started.

Have noticed that my mild winter depression has started to get worse, with Spring's late arrival. Am scared that this may grow into a black depression, for me, like what happened during the holiday season of 2010-2011, when I last attempted suicide.

Thank you, Goat. Too bad, there aren't more of your animal namesake, to eat those vines, 24/7.

I guess we have this kind of memory when we need it being it was deep for us or just cause whatever happened or to us was to horrible or bad to forget or whatever else that stays. :o/ As if we can recall it like it was yesterday, lol. You're very welcome.
