reaction to more snow, tonight, with the possibility of freezing rain.

A morning ritual

Of a groping hand

Turning on the radio

For the local news

And weather.

As the lead story

Proclaims more snow

And the possibility

Of freezing rain.

Jarring my sleep addled mind

Into full awake mode

Hours before I want it

Or need to be.

Few choice words

Comes forth

Best left unsaid

By me

But thought of.

Thought

Yesterday was 

The Spring Equinox

Meaning Winter's end

For another year.

Guess

Mother Nature and I

Must have different calendars.

I swear mine says

Today is

First full day

For Spring.

As I feel

My emotions sink

Ever deeper

Into depression

After 4 months

Of bitter winter conditions.

Pulling the blanket

Over my head

Trying to fall asleep

Once more

But failing.

Hearing the same story

Thirty minutes later

As a sigh of resignation

Escapes my lips.

I LOOOVE this very much. Fab how you concocted this. :o) Great all the way to that clever end. I hate winter myself and am not happy either that we will get some where I am too. It's too long over due. :op Any place warm will do for me. I hear an island calling me, and I'm sure for you too. :o)

I think many of us have had our fill of this winter. I'm ready to relocate to a warmer locale. Ugghhhh....no more snow or grey cold days please.. sigh.

When I look out my window in the rear, there's still a mountain of the stuff that never had a chance to melt, it's not perdy...depressing, and it's godawful cold still.

It's cold here, too, but the windchill is downright nasty, with a capital nasty.

Why couldn't this weather stayed south, at the border with Buffalo, NY. It would look good, with all of the snow, they get there.

think you and I have the same calendar, and definitely the same feelings toward this neverending winter. We are getting more snow this week - I think I'll hibernate until June... A well done rant on the season, Therisa!

Thank you, Rita. I have taken to avoiding the weather forecast, whether on the TV or the radio, until all of the snow has melted and the lawns need mowing. This is nuts.

This is a particularly looong winter. It' been cold and snowy and I share your angst over this winter of our discontent.

Not sure, about the bi-polar nature of the weather here, myself, I would settle for sadistical, as my description for it. Funny part, today's high is a balmy 6 C. Sigh.
