Never Ending Pain

Never Ending Pain

A Poem by therisa

Tell me

How does one

Regain the ability

To trust another soul?

With secrets

And the deepest love

A soul can

Ever experience

With another person?

When

All they have known

Is pain and betrayal

By love ones

And those

Close to them?

Where trust has

Become an antonym

For abuse and betrayal.

As your previous hopes

Come crashing down

Around you

Like an avalanche

Of half remembered memories.

Which

Your ill-advised choices

Flash before your mind's eye

As you punish yourself

Once again.

Until your fear

Becomes an overpowering force

Entrapping you

Within it's web.

And isolation

A solace

Which numbs you

As you watch others

Walk-by

Hand-in-hand.

Therisa, trust is something that is very important in any kind of relationship. It is the glue that keeps friendships intact and love glowing. It is easier lost than found, but keep your eyes and mind open and you will find the ability to trust once again. Very nicely penned.

When a relationship ends and every decision you ever made in your life seems wrong or just plain stupid, it seems the entire world is headed two by two to Noah's Ark. Everyone has someone while you are alone....a single person who will never trust again. After a while though, we do allow others into our lives....it is necessary unless you want to live your entire life alone. The emotions are expressed very well in this write. I liked it. Lydi**
