Shifting Sands

Shifting Sands

A Poem by therisa
"

Written, as a thank you, for a person, who stood up for me, and other transpeople.

"

The face of hate

Knows many looks

When presented

To the world.

For most people

They are oblivious

To the destructive energy

Around them.

Preferring

To remain ignorant

Like the German people

Under the Nazi rule.

Very act of questioning

The words and actions

Of your neighbour

Brands you

A troublemaker.

As you find yourself

Further isolated

From society

In trying to right

An injustice.

Which

They don't understand

Or want to.

For change means

Lost of power

For those

Who exercise it

Unjustly.

But your small act

In the requesting

Justice for all

Is a revolutionary step.

For it

Shall not go

Unnoticed by

The world.
