Anxiety's Toy

Anxiety's Toy

A Poem by therisa
"

how I felt during an anxiety attack, this morning.

"

Please

Take my hand

Into your's

I beg

Of you.

I can feel

The monster banging

At my door

Wanting in.

Shouting out

His various threats

Which he promises

Awaits me.

Can feel

My knees buckling

As my resolve

Weakens.

But

I cannot surrender

To do so

Means my doom.

Trapped

In my apartment

With no escape.

This morning, I had to go shopping for a few items, which required me, to use the local transit. A source of many of anxiety/panic attacks, in the past.
