Dear Bullies (A Poetic Letter)

Dear Bullies (A Poetic Letter)

A Poem by therisa

Dear Bullies;

Am writing

This poetic letter

To you.

Letting you know

Your reign of terror

Is ending.

Although

I still have flashbacks

Of those days

Which your fists

And hateful words

Filled my life.

Your grasp

Over my life is

Lessening

By each word

I write.

I do not know

Why you choose me

As your homophobic target

When we were kids.

Especially

Concerning the fact

I was living my life

In deep denial

About my inner truth

As a transsexual.

Did I send off

Weird vibrations

That only you could

Understand and decode?

Thankfully

Those days are

Long gone for me.

Still I wonder

Would you recognized me

If we were to meet

Once more.

Sadly

I know I would

As your faces are

Acid etched

Into my memory

All these decades

Ago.

Serving

As a reminder of how

Not to behave

Towards others

When I am experiencing

Deep personal pain.

A lesson

I have learned

The hard way

Courtesy of you.

i have no sympathy for bullies, not an ounce at all

Thank you, Emily. I see my recovery, more as, the pendulum being restored to it's proper place.
