BC DreamingA Poem by therisaJust daydreaming.Just a moment ago Words flooded Through my mind Like a tsunami. Scrubbing bare Every notion and idea That lay developing Within my mind's recess. Guess It's my west coast birthright Struggling to emerge In the bright sunlight Which bathes me In southern Ontario. After a long And daub Winter Followed by A very chilly And wet Spring. Longing to walk Through the dunes Kicking the sun-kissed sands With my bare feet. Feeling the rush Of the incoming tide Swirling around my legs Playfully. Of the brine Left behind As the waves retreat Across the bay. Watching The little crabs scurry And other sea life Lay upon the beach Exposed to our touch. Sigh. Alas Lake Ontario is A far cry from The Pacific Ocean Where I was born. Especially During this time Of the year. © 2013 therisa |
