Point Of View

Point Of View

A Poem by therisa

Excuse me.

Please

Stop treating me

Like I am

An useless drone.

As if

I have lost something

Thus need

A knight protector.

Just because

Estrogen flows

Through my body

Where once

Testosterone did.

True

My body

Maybe weaker

Now.

But

Who I am

Has not change

Since you have

Known me.

Except grown

Into the woman

Who stands

Before you.

Understand

You feel the need to demonstrate

To the world

You can do everything

On your own.

Except

True strength comes

As you realize

Not everyone views you

A handicapped person.

When

Making their offering

To you.
