A Poem by therisa

Stop

I want to scream

As my body sits

Idling.

While

My brain

Races ahead

Unfettered.

As ideas

Flash forward

At light speed.

Colliding

With each other

Into one huge pile-up

Of thoughts.

Among

The casualties

Is my anxiety control

Left to wander

Dazed and confused

Betwixt the mangled ideas.

Anxious thoughts

Oozing out

From the bandaged

Head wound.

Triggering

An anxiety/panic response

Of burying myself

Deep within.

Like

A comatose patient

Strapped down

Onto a bed.
