Balancing The Scale

Balancing The Scale

A Poem by therisa

How

Does one measure

The worth of one's

Soul?

When

They see

Their inner self

As tainted.

Polluted

By a past

Too vile

To mention.

Where

Self-hatred is

The core emotion

Of everyday life.

Barely surviving.

Almost

A failure

To thrive.

Viewing death

As the sole means

To escape this.

Not knowing

How to right

This wrong.

When

The soul is

Forced to face Ma'at

With Her Duat.
