Theif Of Love

Theif Of Love

A Poem by therisa

You come

In the silence

Between my heartbeats.

Like

A stealth thief

Sneaking past

My defences.

Casing

My soul

Taking notes

Of areas to avoid

For future reference.

Finding

Locked rusty gates

Enclosing my heart

By past hurts.

Overgrown

With bloody thorns

Baring the tattered remains

Of my soul.

Feeling

Your presence

As you misstep

Ever so briefly

Like someone walking

Across my grave.

Then

Nothing

More.

As

You walk away

Looking for

Richer target

To take.

I adore this!! It blended real nicely, so it was easy to read. You are a really good writer :)

Thank you, Amber.
this is either positive or negative...sometimes we just lock our heart away...and don't give someone a chance to love us..someone who is good....but then, we might keep the heartbreaker away also...hope this is good, that the other is walking away...

and there are no regrets.
