Gone Too SoonA Poem by therisaMixture of reality and fiction.Thin Trickle of blood Nothing more All that remains Of the small child. Who Once ran Under a bright sun. Now Obscured By the gathering Nimbus clouds. Threatening To burst It's seams With a deluge. Removing What little remained Of the precious memories That ran around Only an hour Ago. Cut down By a cruel fate Of being In the wrong spot At the wrong time. As The garbage truck Made it's wide turn To the right. Unaware Of the tragedy Unfolding beneath It's wheels Until too late. A Turn made Countless time Over the years Without incident Til now. With A five year old No longer able To play hopscotch Or any other games. Except In the memories Of family And friends. © 2013 therisaReviews
