Why Write

Why Write

A Poem by therisa

Do not

Really understand

Where or when

The first words

Started to emerge

But emerge

They did.

As

My pain blossomed

Into poetic thought.

Whether

It be physical

Or psychological

Based.

As

I poured myself

Deeply

Into the printed word.

Caring not

About any style

Or format.

Except

To write.

Even now

Still find

My past writings

Painful to read

Beyond the first time.

Preferring

To move on

As I delve

Into other topics.

Which

I still need

To address

And lay to rest.

Maybe

Someday later

Will come back

When I am

Ready to.

yes, yes, yes.

that's how it was for me...it just came borne of pain. the words emerged...

last two lines of the first stanza you may want "But emerge/ they did"

but yes, this is like the birth of a first poem, maybe a "C" section could help it come out more easily.

Thank you, Jacob, for your very kind words. Please, let not be, by paper cut!
