A Small Step Towards Completion

A Small Step Towards Completion

A Poem by therisa

Sound

Of small children's talking

And running around

At a thousand miles per hour

Fills the public library.

As

They explore

The surrounding

Racks.

Looking for

That elusive book

To take them away

Body and soul

To a magical place.

Myself

Am looking on

Like a voyeur

From a computer

Writing my thoughts

Down.

Oddly enough

My normal reaction is

To run far away

But it is absent

Today.

Maybe

Their youthful energy

Is recharging

What was stolen

As a child.

By repairing

Just a little bit

The huge hole

In my soul.
