Choices

Choices

A Poem by therisa
"

Refusing to let pain domain me, when I was suffering from migraine headaches caused by an anti-depressant.

"

With

Teeth clenched

And various

Body parts

In pain.

As

I try to

Push the pain

Behind a barrier

In my mind.

Like

The traumatic memories

Of my childhood.

But

Knowing

I cannot keep

The barrier up

Forever.

Yet

I refuse

To live my life

As a prisoner

In the pain gaol.

Missing

The majestic beauty

Of the world

Around me.
