See Whom I Am

See Whom I Am

A Poem by therisa
"

Am invisible to my mom, as her daughter.

"

Are

You embarrassed

By my presence

Mom?

Scared

What others

Will say?

Should

They remember me

Growing up

As a "boy".

Else

Still living

In a world of denial

Regarding

My true gender.

Traits

Which you find

Uncomfortable

Now.

Where

In the past

You ignored

Them.

But

That luxury

No longer exist

For you.

Open

Your eyes

And embrace

Your daughter.

Else

Lose me

Forever.
