Destructive Tones

Destructive Tones

A Poem by therisa
"

My destructive inner critic.

"
Hear
Your words
So full of praise
That they feel
So foreign
To me.

Unlike
The usual words
Of damnation
And causation
From others.

Which
Fills my head
With worthlessness
And sadness.

As
They become
My official inner voice
Of every day.

Where
Self-doubting
And self-loathing has
Become second nature
To me.
