Ignorance Is Not BlissA Poem by therisaOne of the problems facing my community.Another Sigh escapes My lips. Upon Being asked The same questions Over and over Again. In Regards To transitioning And a transperson's Sexuality. As if My very existence is Some strange And exotic creature Never seen before By humanity. No wonder So many transwomen Feel the need To go underground. In An attempt To hide their past Thus denying Who they are. I Will admit This thought has Cross my mind Several times. Over The past five years Since I started My HRT. But It would leave The next generation Of transwomen. Without Any role models For guidance And support. Something I refuse To do.
