Asking Forgiveness

Asking Forgiveness

A Story by therisa
"

Part of my inner dialogue that I have with myself, as I heal.

"

Oh
My precious soul
Can you find it
Within you
To forgive me?

For
All the years
Which I kept you
In denial.

As
Wave after wave
Of depression
And suicidal thoughts
Marked our relationship
As body and soul.

How
I have lied
To both of us.

In
Believing
By repressing
Myself.

Everything
Would be fine
And normal for me
As a man.

When
The opposite was
The truth.

Especially
As I must face
My past
Honestly.

With
The pain
Which comes
With it.

Can
You accept my plea
With love
Not hate?

Like
I did
In the past.
