Torture

Torture

A Poem by therisa
"

Events of a flashback dream.

"

Nighttime
How I have
Come to dread you
And the dreams
That follow
In your path.

Each
Successive dream
Find myself
Losing another part
Of my soul.

As
Time loses
All meaning
To me.

In
The wake
Of the dream's
Aftermath.

By
Leaving behind
A brittle shell
Drained
On all levels
Of existence.

As
The body is
Found curled up
In fetal position
Trembling.

Before
Morpheus lays claim
Upon my body
As I pass out.

Awakening
To a leaden body
With high anxiety
Levels.

Knowing
A couple of days
Will past
Before I can
Move on.

Thank you. Only wish, I didn't have experience to draw upon, when writing this out.
