A Poem by therisa

You
Embrace me
With your mantle
Of sadness
Upon my soul.

Like
A cloak
It envelopes
Me.

Darkening
My inner sight
Until the world is
One huge teardrop.

Flowing
Unendingly
From my eyes.

Drowning
My emotions
In shed teardrops
Deep enough to
Fill the Pacific Ocean
Twice over.

While
I struggle
Against the want
To isolate
Myself.

Within
This silken cocoon
Of solace
I have spun
Around myself.

Attempting
To numb my soul
To everything
Emotional.

As
My body slips
Deeper into sleep.
