The Silent War

The Silent War

A Poem by therisa
"

The price, I must pay.

"

Deep
Within my heart
Wages a war
Whose origins
Started long before
I was conceived.

Fought
Along rigid lines
Of definition
That constitutes
Each side.

Any
Ground surrendered
Carried a steep price
Of death.

Whether
It be physical
Or emotional.

Which
Duality is
A compromise
Of last results
For the desperate.

Knowing
Ultimate choice
Of my true gender
Will result
In death.

For
Here lies
The metaphysical remains
Of T______y.

Dead
Except for
Mom's memories
And legal documents.
