The Twilight Zone

The Twilight Zone

A Poem by therisa

Can
Sense your embrace
Upon my body
As your tendrils
Sink deeper
Into it.

While
My anxiety level
Move northward.

Where
The simple act of leaving
My apartment has become
A struggle.

As
Auditoral
And visional flashbacks
Play at full blast.

Am
Taken backwards
Into my childhood years
And the terrors
Which plagued it.

Leaving me
A virtual prisoner
Where time has
Lost all meaning
To me.

Full
Night's sleep?

A
Vicious rumour
Which haunts me
As I have lost track
Of the last time
I enjoyed it.

Maybe
Tonight
Will be different
I hope.
