A Simple Request

A Simple Request

A Poem by therisa
"

A prayer

"

Goddess
Mother and Healer
To all.

Please
Hear the plead
Of a daughter
Who seeks
Your guidance.

For
I am have lost
A part of myself
Which I need.

But
Do not know
How to recover it
As I heal.

For
My abusive past
Still flashes
Before my eyes
Affecting my life.

If
It is
Not too much
To ask from You.

May
I have
My self-confidence
Restore?

Long
I have hidden
In fear and shame
From being
A childhood victim
Of violence.

I
Plead
For Your strength
In laying my daemons
To rest.

So
Simple things
Like nighttime sleeping
Become the ordinary
Instead the extraordinary.

As
Has been
The past six years
For me.

I ask
Not for
The impossible
But small steps
Of progress.

Thank you
Goddess
For hearing
My prayer.
