THE MIRROR

THE MIRROR

A Poem by Theresa Anne

Reflections of your life are a mirror to the past,

You catch a glimpse of yourself that disappears so fast.

If you overlook the mirror you'll never see inside,

At all the places that you go to run away and hide.

As you stare inside of it, who is it you see,

Do I know the person, staring back at me?

At times you want to look inside, to see what you have done,

While other times the mirror can make you turn and run.

Sometimes it's hard to recognize the person you see there,

The image staring back at you is much too hard to bear.

Let the mirror be your conscience of who you want to be,

Remember when you look inside and just what you might see.

Don't disregard the mirror; it reflects all that you do,

Fore when you look inside of it…the reflection is of you.
